Hey there, I’m 30 and I’ve got my eyes set on Vietnam for my next adventure.
I’ve only done one solo trip before with Topdeck travel just before the whole pandemic chaos. This time I’m thinking of going around March 2024.
I’m mainly torn between a few options right now: Contiki’s Vietnam experience, the Vietnam Intro 12-day tour by Intro Travels, and the Classic Vietnam tour by G Adventures.
Has anyone here tried any of these? Any pointers on what’s good? Or should I just brave it and go at it solo?
Thanks for any help!!
Hey! I totally get where you're coming from, stepping out solo can be a bit daunting. Vietnam is a brilliant choice though. Full of culture, great food and it's super cheap! I’ve not personally done those tours, but I’ve heard some good things about all three. Contiki is known for being a lot of fun, you’re bound to meet some great people. G Adventures tends to be a bit more laid back and introspective, but still quite sociable. The Intro Travels tour, I’ve heard, has a nice mix of both.
But don’t discount going solo. Vietnam is backpacker-friendly, loads of solo travellers to meet, and it gives you the freedom to go at your own pace. The train from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City is fairly easy to manage and great fun.
Regardless of what you choose, you’re in for an adventure.
Hope this helps a bit.
